(ECNS) -- Electricians have braved snow and freezing conditions in the world's highest power transmission and transformation project in Tibet Autonomous Region.
With a total length of 1,689 km, the project, which runs from Xigaze City to Ali Prefecture, stretches across permafrost, no man's land and swamps.
With towers at an average altitude of 4572 meters, the project is said to be an extremely difficult "power heaven road."
Connecting 10 Tibetan counties, it will improve reliability of power supply across Ali Prefecture.
The project, started in September 2019, is planned to complete in 2021.
