(ECNS) -- A white-lipped deer, also known as Thorold's deer, was trapped by a fence on a snowy plateau at an altitude of over 4,700 meters in Qumarleb County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province.
Rangers used pliers and other tools to break the fence and save the deer from danger.
White-lipped deer are an endemic species to China.
This threatened animal is found across grasslands, bushland, and forests at high altitude on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The deer were included on the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species in 2013.
