(ECNS) -- Abuluoha Village is located in the deep valley of Jinsha River and surrounded by mountains on three sides and a cliff on the other.
With 263 residents, it was once the last village without a road in the country.
A 3.8-km-long road is being built to connect Abuluoha Village to the outside.
Construction of a key tunnel, the final part of the project, is expected to finish in May.
A temporary, free cable car service linking cliff and road was launched on December 31, 2019.
In the past, villagers had to spend at least three hours traversing steep mountainous roads to reach the outside world.
Villagers envision better lives once the road is finished.
