(ECNS) -- Gan Ruyi, a medical worker in Wuhan, travelled about 300 kilometers from her home to get back to her post for the fight against the novel coronavirus.
The 24-year-old went back hometown for Spring Festival.
When she saw the news about the epidemic, she decided to return to work.
With heavy traffic controls in place to curb the spread of the epidemic, Gan decided to ride a bike to work.
After four days of cycling, walking and then hitching a ride with the help of police, she finally arrived at the hospital on Feb. 3.
Now she has been working on the frontline for many days.
