(ECNS) -- After the last 13 patients left the hospital at around 1:30 pm, the temporary hospital at Wuhan Sport Center closed on March 8.
The cured patients will be taken to designated spots for quarantine before going home.
"We're very grateful to the medical staff from Anhui. They risked their own safety to help us. We thank them very much," said a cured patient.
"The disease broke out at an important festival. We thank those who supported us. It will become a unique memory in my life. I learned to cherish and be grateful," said another cured.
Since it started to receive patients on February 12, the temporary hospital has housed 1,056 patients.
Of those, 875 have been cured and 181 transferred to other medical facilities.
Pan Mengfei, a nurse from Jiangsu Province, said it's the best gift for International Women's Day to see their efforts being paid off.
"It's been a hard month for me. But we all held the spirit and got through. It makes me most happy to see patients being cured and leaving here. I'm still getting used to the fact that the hospital will be closed, but I'm also very proud of myself and my team," Pan said.
The venue will receive a thorough cleanup and disinfection in the following days.
The medical staff will stay on standby at their bases in Wuhan.
The medical supplies and equipment will be sealed in place for further arrangement.
