(ECNS) -- Two nurses have invented a throat swab sampling shield that effectively prevents droplet contamination.
They are members of the medical assistance team from north China's Shanxi Province to Wuhan.
Their design was inspired by their daily work collecting samples and was realized through 3D printing.
The transparent polypropylene-made shield, 14cm long and 13cm wide, has a hole with a diameter of 8mm for the swab to pass through.
On the patient's side is a tongue spatula that is 7cm long and about 1cm wide, which can fit most people.
