(ECNS)--Fossil specimens recovered from the Middle Jurassic Lower Member of the Shaximiao Formation Yunyang County, Chongqing Municipality in 2017 have been assigned to a new species of Omeisaurus based on morphological and comparative study.
The large herbivorous dinosaur had an adult body length of about 16 meters.
These fossil specimens include forelimbs, hind limbs and vertebrae with some joints, as well as clavicles, ribs, etc.
This discovery reveals new morphological information on Omeisaurus.
