(ECNS)--Thirty-one households from cliff-top Atuleer Village of Sichuan Province relocated to new apartments as part of China's poverty relief program.
The village lies atop a cliff more than 1,400 meters above sea level.
While their belongings were transported via cables, villagers used steel ladders to reach their new apartments.
Twenty-seven more households will move to their new homes on Thursday.
Altogether, 84 households will settle in five residential quarters in the county seat 75 km away.
Each villager is entitled to 25 square meters and their new apartments come in models of 50, 75 and 100 square meters.
