(ECNS)--Fourteen Zhoujiaping villagers aged over 50 in Lanying Grand Canyon of poverty-stricken Wuxi County hammered out a road along a cliff to better connect with the outside world.
Previously, residents had to travel almost an entire day to exit the mountainous area.
Construction of the 1.2 km cliff road took more than four years, dependent on the most basic tools.
In 2017, the local government managed to raise enough funds to reinforce the road.
The rich natural landscape here, though normal for locals, has started to attract tourists.
Needless to say, their lives are getting better and better.
