(ECNS)--A hand-painted "Chinese-character" calendar made by pupils in Chengdu, Sichuan Province has garnered much attention.
A local teacher at Chengdu Experimental Primary School instructs students in ancient Chinese character formation, including pictograms, associative compounds and phonograms.
The students made a unique "Chinese-character calendar" under the teacher's guidance.
Each calendar page features a comparison between the simplified and ancient form of a Chinese character, accompanied by stroke order.
The back of each displays an oracle-bone inscription of each character.
Some Chinese characters are related to the 24 solar terms or Chinese zodiac.
Pre-sold online, some overseas schools have already placed orders for the calendar.
Income generated from sales will be donated to kids in impoverished areas.
