(ECNS) -- Jade-like streams have appeared in the unfrozen river of the Santan gorge at Arxan National Geopark in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The combination of ice flowers, snowflakes and splashes makes the water look like jade.
Due to abundant geothermal energy generated by underground volcanic activity, the river remains ice free even at temperatures as low as -30℃ to -40℃.
