(ECNS) -- A five-meter-high stone painting depicting a skier was spotted in Yuhu Park, Fuyun County, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
The giant rock covers an area of 50 square meters and weighs many tons.
Ma Yimin, an arts and crafts master in Xinjiang, said it was the first time he had painted on such a huge surface.
In Ma's studio, there are various themes of stone paintings including Chinese zodiacs among which wolf is his favorite.
Ma is obsessed with stone painting since each surface is unique and non-replicable.
As a niche craft, Ma hopes to popularize the charming but silent art of stone painting.
