(ECNS) -- Recently, a 140℃ steam-hot water mixture containing hot spring minerals gushed from the Yangbajain Geothermal Field from a depth of 200 meters.
This mixture is a clean and renewable energy source, with its heat utilization rate capable of reaching about six percent.
Located in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region, Yangbajain is the first town in China to use shallow geothermal resources to generate electricity.
By May 2020, the cumulative power generation of the field had reached 3.425 billion kwh.
Tailwater from the field supplies hot water for relocation sites and hot spring resorts in Yangbajain Town.
