(ECNS) -- The renovation of the Memorial for the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai will be completed by May.
It will open to the public for the upcoming centenary of the founding of the Party.
The Party, founded in Shanghai in 1921, will celebrate its 100th birthday this year.
Located at No. 76 Xingye Road, the memorial is a typical Shikumen building (a housing style in Shanghai) built in 1920.
It witnessed the First CPC National Congress on July 23, 1921.
It was temporarily closed on Nov. 17, 2020 for renovation.
The renovated memorial will highlight the course and spirit of Party building in its exhibition design.
