(ECNS) -- Glossy ibis, a national second-class protected animal in China, recently reappeared in a suburban wetland in Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province.
This is the second time this rare bird has been spotted in Yingjiang in recent years.
In China Red Data Book Of Endangered Animals, glossy ibis was once asserted extinct nationally.
In recent years, with improvement of the ecological environment, the birds have reappeared.
Glossy ibis is now listed of least concern in the Red List of Threatened Species compiled by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
