(ECNS) -- Xining Wildlife Park prepared a sumptuous Laba Festival dinner for primates on Jan. 19, the day before China's Laba Festival.
Seven families were invited to make the dinner at the park in Xining City, Qinghai Province.
The festival is on the eighth day of the twelfth month of Chinese lunar calendar, which falls on Jan. 20 this year.
It is customary on this day to have Laba Congee, which usually consists of at least eight ingredients, such as glutinous rice, lotus seeds, red dates, red beans and peanuts.
It represents people's prayers for harvest, happiness and peace.
