(ECNS) -- Farmers and herdsmen are sewing colorful prayer flags to celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year.
Traditionally, Tibetans hang new prayer flags on rooftops, hilltops and lakeside areas around the third day of the festival to pray for a happy and prosperous New Year.
This year, the Tibetan New Year falls on Feb. 12, the same day as the Chinese New Year.
Many farmers and herdsmen sewed Tibetan prayer flags for sale in Chengguan District of Lhasa, making the street a big temporary market.
