(ECNS) -- China has achieved a bumper harvest of grains for 17 consecutive years, Tang Renjian, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, made the remarks at the "Ministers' Corridor" meeting with the media in Beijing on Friday.
In the past six years, China's yearly grain output has remained at more than 1.3 trillion kilograms, Tang said.
At present, the per capita amount of Chin's grain supply is 474 kilograms.
Internationally, 400 kilograms is usually considered the standard line for grain security.
China has exceeded this standard for many years in a row. So in general, we have every reason to believe that China's food security is fully guaranteed and that we are able to feed the Chinese people well, Tang added.
