(ECNS) -- Teenagers in Changchun took part in a series of activities related to traditional Chinese culture on International Museum Day, which falls on May 18.
They showed great interest in activities such as the "adult ceremony" and Six Arts. The Six Arts, including rites, music, archery, chariotry, calligraphy and mathematics, are skills students had to learn in the aristocratic education system of ancient China.
Twenty-eight students dressed in modern Chinese costumes bowed to statues of ancient sages.
The students and parents changed gifts and the parents put on grown-up signs for them.
Students had much fun and further understood traditional Chinese education in the process of learning the Six Arts.
Experiences such as the imperial civil examination, the pitch-pot game and rubbings refreshed their understanding of the country's traditional culture.
The local authorities said more activities will be held in the future to promote traditional Chinese culture and to attract more teenagers.
