(ECNS) -- The Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft was launched in south China's Hainan Province on Saturday evening and docked with the space station core module Tianhe on Sunday morning.
It is programmed to deliver supplies, equipment and propellant for astronauts who will board Tianhe in the near future.
Composed of cargo and propulsion compartments, the Tianzhou-2 cargo freighter is 10.6 meters long with a maximum diameter of 3.35 meters.
With a maximum takeoff weight of 13.5 tons and a payload capacity of 6.9 tons, it can conduct multiple autonomous refueling operations.
