(ECNS) -- The IAU Working Group for Planetary System Nomenclature has approved eight Chinese names for lunar features on the Moon in the vicinity of the Chang'e-5 landing site.
So far, there are 35 features with Chinese names on the Moon.
The eight new names are as follows:
Statio Tianchuan: A boat sailing in the galaxy;
Mons Hua: named after Mount Hua, one of China's Five Great Mountains;
Mons Heng: named after Mount Heng, one of China's Five Great Mountains;
Pei Xiu: a Chinese geographer during Western Jin Dynasty (265-316)
Shen Ku: a Chinese astronomer and mathematician in the Song Dynasty (960-1279);
Liu Hui: a mathematician in who lived in the state of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period (220–280) of China;
Song Yingxing: The late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) scientist and the writer of Tiangong Kaiwu famed as "China's 17th Century Craft Encyclopedia";
Xu Guangqi: an agronomist, astronomer and mathematician in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)
