(ECNS) -- The Longyangxia Hydropower Station, also known as the "leading hydropower station in Yellow River", is the first large-scale cascade hydropower station planned for the Longqing section of the upper reaches of the Yellow River.
It is a large-scale hydroelectric project designed and constructed by China.
In 1989, all four units of the power station were put into operation with an average annual power generation of 6 billion kilowatt-hours and a storage capacity of 24.7 billion cubic meters.
As the main power station of China's northwestern power grid, it is also the largest regulating reservoir with a good regulating performance located on the Yellow River.
