(ECNS) -- The Tiaoshun Cross-sea Bridge in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province opened to traffic on Monday after over three years of construction.
Located in the north of Zhanjiang, the bridge connects east and west of the city, spanning over the Zhanjiang Bay.
With a total length of 9.36 kilometers, it has six two-way lanes and a designed speed of 80 km/h.
"Tiaoshun", written in traditional Chinese seal script, means weather conditions favorable for harvest in Chinese.
The bridge has become a landmark of Zhanjiang which integrates transportation function and landscape.
It plays a crucial role in promoting the economic development of west Guangdong and linking the local region with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
