(ECNS) -- Heavy rain hit Xiushui County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province on Monday morning.
A local farmer in his 70s was trapped in the soaring flood while looking for his horse in the rainstorm.
He was seen walking along the river around 7:00 a.m. and accidentally fell into the water.
The local government immediately sent a rescue team after receiving the report.
A firefighter jumped into the river to approach the trapped elderly and helped him put on the life jacket.
Other firefighters on the bank successfully pulled the two men ashore with ropes about 10 minutes later.
