(ECNS) -- A female lesser panda gave birth to four cubs in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding 12 days ago.
This is the second time that the base has recorded the birth of four lesser panda cubs.
Both the four cubs and the mother are in good health and the cubs can feed themselves with breast milk.
The cubs weighed about 100 grams on average, which is normal for newborns.
Lesser panda, or red panda, is a second-class protected wild animal in China. It has been on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2015.
