(ECNS) -- The Dushanzi-Kuqa Highway in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, or Duku Highway, opened to traffic on Sunday.
It is dubbed one of "China's most beautiful roads."
The 560-km highway connects Dushanzi in the northern area of Xinjiang and Kuqa County in the south, with half of it at an altitude of above 2000 meters.
Running through various landscapes including glaciers, forests, and grasslands, it is very popular among road trip fans.
The highway has a "hibernation" period from October to June of the following year due to snow.
