(ECNS) -- A Chinese fir tree, with a banyan tree growing on top of it, has stood beside a road in Pingjiang Village, Rongjiang, Guizhou Province for many years.
The banyan tree has taken root on the 15-meter-high fir tree, sharing in the soil's nourishment.
The Chinese fir and banyan trees, merged into one, are flourishing and growing well, often attracting passing photographers.
"This "double-tree" is about 60 years old. The two trees survive by clinging to each other, so if the Chinese fir dies, it would be difficult for the banyan tree to survive," said Wu Minghong, head of the Pingjiang village committee.
