(ECNS) -- The world's first typhoon-resistant floating offshore wind turbine, which can withstand typhoons as high as level-17, has been successfully installed in the sea area of Yangjiang, Guangdong Province.
The floating wind turbine, located 30 kilometers offshore, has a single-unit capacity of 5,500 kilowatts and can generate 5,500 kilowatt-hours of full electricity per hour.
The electricity it generates can provide green and clean energy to 30,000 households per year.
The successful installation of floating offshore wind turbine will lay the foundation for the development of wind power in the open and deep sea in the future.
