(ECNS) -- An on-site test of the crossing of the Qingmao checkpoint between Guangdong and Macao was conducted Thursday to prepare for the checkpoint's official operation on September 8.
The Qingmao checkpoint is adjacent to the Border Gate Checkpoint, one of the main existing ports between Macao and Guangdong.
The new boundary crossing will operate 24 hours a day and be able to handle up to 200,000 passenger trips daily.
The border inspection department has completed more than 1,000 technical tests and 50,000 trips have been tested already.
