(ECNS) -- China held its first national-level unscripted maritime search and rescue drill in Caofeidian, Tangshan, on Monday.
In the simulation, a fishing vessel sank and 11 people were lost.
The Hebei Provincial Maritime Search and Rescue Center commanded national rescue ships as well as ships from the maritime police and fishery administration.
The center also coordinated assistance to carry out search and rescue operations.
It is the first time that China has held a national-level unscripted maritime search and rescue drill.
Sponsored by the China Maritime Search and Rescue Center and undertaken by the Hebei Provincial Center, this unscripted drill was of great significance for accumulating experience.
