(ECNS) -- China-aided Morodok Techo National Stadium opened in Cambodia this September.
Located in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, the stadium covers 16 hectares with a construction area of 824 hundred square meters.
The stadium will be the centerpiece venue for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2023. The structure was built in the shape of a "sailing ship" with two 99-meter-tall prows, depicting the gesture of "Sampeah", which reflects Cambodian culture and tradition.
It was encircled by an ancient Angkor-style moat while the Cambodian floral emblem, Romduol, was also incorporated into the design.
The ship-like stadium is a new landmark of the ironclad friendship between Cambodia and China.
