(ECNS) -- China's "Tianwen 1" orbiter and "Zhurong" rover resumed their scientific exploration on Friday after solar conjunction.
It had been expected for the orbiter to be "disconnected", though it remained in normal operation.
The research team conducted tests to boost follow-up missions. Solar conjunction is a regular occurrence in aerospace missions and this time, lasted relatively long.
A solar conjunction happens when Mars and Earth move to either side of the sun and the three are almost perfectly aligned. During this period, the solar electromagnetic radiation jammed the communications between the Mars probes and Earth.
