(ECNS) -- Dating back to Western Zhou Dynasty, leaf carving has a history of more than 3,000 years.
Involving over thirty procedures from cleaning to carving, leaves are revitalized to depict beautiful scenes and stories.
"We opened this leaf carving gallery in July, 2016. Leaf carving has been passed on in my grandma's family. I hope to hand on and modernize this craft," said Long Yuyu, an inheritor of leaf carving.
The priority is to select an "excellent" leaf because the shape, texture and veins may condition the final carving.
In time, they have added new elements like cartoon characters and movie scenes onto the leaves, creating works remarkably different from their peers.
They love leaf carving and are content with their self-employed and self-sufficient life and seek to pass on the skill.
