(ECNS) -- Researchers have released nearly 10,000 naked osman, a fish species in the family Cyprinidae, into Kenswat Reservoir and downstream to Manasi River, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
This is the first time the endangered indigenous fish species has been successfully bred artificially and released into the Manasi River.
It is a first-class provincially protected aquatic animal and the release is essential for river ecology restoration and aquatic animal protection.
