(ECNS) -- Linking Anqing in east China's Anhui Province with Jiujiang in Jiangxi Province, the Anqing-Jiujiang high-speed railway started trial operation on December 1.
The line is 170.9 kilometers long with seven stations and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
Railway construction began in September 2017, and is expected to be ready for official operation by the end of 2021.
It will shorten the travel time between Jiangxi's capital Nanchang and Anhui's capital Hefei from four hours to about two hours.
