(ECNS) -- Justin Yifu Lin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and dean of Institute of New Structural Economics of Peking University, expressed his optimistic views about China's economic growth while receiving an interview of China News Service.
International organizations, such as the IMF, have estimated China's GDP growth may reach 5.1 percent in 2022, but I think it could be higher because I believe China's GDP is bound to rise by 6 percent or more, he said.
"After four-decade development, many of our industries, including home appliances, mobile communications and new economy, are at the top global level. So, we are in the same position as some developed countries. We have advantages in human resources, a vast market, and collaborative industries. We can push forward innovation in these aspects," he added.
If China can maintain relatively rapid growth, it will not only meet the demands of China itself, and benefit the whole world, but also boost the development of other countries, Lin said.
