(ECNS) -- Over the past four decades, 68-year-old Xia Xiaoming from Hefei, east China's Anhui Province, has drawn more than a thousand sketches depicting changes across the urban sphere.
Xia has been hooked on drawing since he was young.
Daily life proved full of inspiration as he grew up. His work has mainly focused on natural scenery and people.
To retain his childhood memories, he has drawn nearly 200 city-life sketches based on Hefei.
In one of his art works, Xia drew several childhood games, including throwing sandbags, teasing crickets, and others.
Xia's sketches serve as a reflection of changing times as well as his thoughts.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, he has used his pencils to capture daily life during the pandemic.
Xia said his visual recordings could be seen as a series of shared memories.
