(ECNS) -- The Lancang River, originating from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, flows through Tibet Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province, and is called the Mekong River after it leaves Xishuangbanna in China and runs through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Since the initiation of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation in 2016, Chinese President Xi Jinping has been promoting exchanges and cooperation among countries along the river. He has visited those countries many times and met with state leaders. He has affirmed the achievements of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and praised the "Lancang-Mekong speed and efficiency", as well as its culture of equality, sincerity, mutual assistance and affinity.
