(ECNS) -- This year's first China-Europe freight train "Chifeng" departed from Manzhouli Port in Chifeng City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, for Moscow on Wednesday, heralding a boost in rail-borne trade between China and Russia.
The train carried 50 containers loaded with lysine sulfate, hydrochloride and other products, with a value of 12 million yuan ($1.88 million).
The China-Russia rail link is an important component of a plan to expand freight services between China and Europe, and to promote the Belt and Road Initiative.
