(ECNS) -- Rest stations for delivery workers have been built in various places such as Urumqi and Altay in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
These rest stations enable them to charge their phones and meet their basic needs.
The rest station on the Yangzijiang River Road in Urumqi City is one of the 148 rest stations in the city.
In addition to the rest stop function, this station also provides books, microwave ovens, chargers, hot water, basic medicine and other necessities.
There was no place for rest and it was not convenient to drink water before. But now I can drink water, charge my phone, and have a rest in these stations. This is very convenient for me, said He Junping, a delivery man.
We are very busy every day and can't have regular meals. Eating in restaurants is a waste of time. But now I can take my food to a rest station and heat it there, which has saved time and improved my work efficiency, said Zhang Huan, a delivery man.
Delivery enterprises in Xinjiang have dispatched over 160 million orders, a year-on-year increase of 40.92 percent. There are more than 8,000 delivery personnel in Urumqi.
