(ECNS) -- A two-day course for Chinese college students ended on Dong Fang Hong-3 (DFH-3), a domestically built silent research vessel, on Monday.
Students from six universities experienced a variety of lessons, including a marine safety emergency drill, a DFH-3 visit, themed lectures from experts, and marine investigation activities.
Students got first-hand experience with marine hydrology and meteorology, and also operated marine investigation equipment, including the Conductivity, Temperature, Depth instrument.
The DFH-3 is equipped with world-leading ship technology and scientific research equipment.
The vessel can carry out high-precision comprehensive marine scientific research that integrates full sea depth and space research.
The vessel has obtained the highest underwater radiated noise level certificate from DNV GL, the world's largest classification society in Norway, making it the world's largest silent comprehensive marine research vessel.
