(ECNS) -- Fujian craftsman Chen Guorui has been engaged in reviving the provincial intangible cultural heritage Gaoloumixian since 2015.
Gaoloumixian uses rice paste to glue together selected grains of plump and transparent rice to create realistic miniature replicas of pavilions, cattle, sheep and various fruit.
Chen has brought this cultural heritage to schools, hoping young children could pass it on.
"I hope to keep pace with the times and innovate based on inheritance. I want to attract students through regular school-bases courses. I must be responsible for the inheritance of this craft since I have engaged in protecting it already. It's my duty to pass it on to future generations," he said.
Gaoloumixianwas officially included on the Fujian Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
