Crayfish attract countrywide diners to Hubei

(ECNS) -- Braised crayfish are attracting diners from across the country to Qianjiang in April.

The crayfish industry is one of the top 10 agricultural industry chains in Hubei. The provincial crayfish output accounts for nearly half of the total of the country.

Crayfish Trading Center in Qinjiang has traded 13,000 tonnes of fresh crayfish with a transaction value of 1.1 billion yuan (about $169.2 million) from January to mid-April this year.

The mode of breeding crayfish in rice fields in Qianjiang has brought in over 60 billion yuan.

The local crayfish industry in the city has created more than 200,000 jobs and pulled more than 20,000 people out of poverty.
