(ECNS) -- Video footage shows green peafowl spreading their tails at the Konglonghe Nature Reserve in Shuangbai County, southwest China's Yunnan Province.
Green peafowl, the only peafowl species native to China, inhabits Yunnan Province.
It is under first-class national protection in the country and there are 555 to 600 of these birds in China.
Male peafowl usually spread their tails when they want to court females, but female and baby peafowl will also flaunt their tails if they are frightened or want to intimidate enemies.
