Rare white-eared night heron rescued in Jiangxi

(ECNS) -- A white-eared night heron has been rescued by the local forestry bureau in Wuning County, east China's Jiangxi Province.

The wing of the night heron had suffered damage by the time it was found.

The extremely rare white-eared night heron is known as the most "mystical" bird. It is categorized as globally endangered since there are only 1,000 left in the world.
