(ECNS) -- Two adults and two children trapped in a residential building in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, were successfully transferred to a safe area on Thursday.
Shenzhen was hit by heavy rainfall on Thursday, and many streets and residential building were drowned, and vehicles trapped.
People failed to open the gate of the building they live in because the rainfall had accumulated to 80 centimeters.
Local fire fighters carried out emergency rescue operations immediately.
They demolished the railings of the balcony on the first floor and then transferred them to a safe area with lifebuoys.
Besides, vehicles on the No. 107 National Highway in Baoan District in Shenzhen went flameout due to the nearly 50-centimeter rainwater.
People trapped in vehicles have also been rescued.
