(ECNS) -- An international pottery exhibition entitled "Echoes of Majiayao" was launched in Delft on Sunday to pay tribute to traditional Chinese Majiayao culture.
At the opening ceremony, a "paper horse" was carried into the arena as the word "horse" is pronounced as "Ma" in China.
Dutch painter and sculptor Saskia Pfaeltzer sang a traditional Chinese song, "Running Horses Protect the Border" in further homage.
Majiayao culture flourished along the upper reaches of Yellow River and its tributaries. Dating back more than 5,000 years, it formed a significant part of the origins of Chinese civilization.
