Asian elephant Molly quarantined at Kunming Zoo

(ECNS) -- Kunming Zoo announced on Wednesday that Asia elephant Molly has undertaken a comprehensive health examination after returning to the zoo on Monday.

Molly was quarantined and observed with its mother, waiting for the results.

Molly was born at Kunming Zoo in Southwest China's Yunnan Province in 2016.

In 2018, it was transported to Qinyang Swan Lake Park for breeding purpose.

It sparked public concern and heated debate after netizens revealed Molly was forced to perform in a series of zoos in Henan Province.
