25 years on, great changes in Hong Kong after returning to motherland

(ECNS) -- President Xi Jinping said “I've always been concerned about Hong Kong’s development.”

From 2008 to 2017, he traveled twice to Hong Kong, where he visited local residents, the construction site of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the West Kowloon Cultural District to learn about local people’s opinions.

Since its return 25 years ago, Hong Kong has enjoyed the backing of the motherland and been open to the world, creating a new chapter in the city.
