Reindeer race held in north China's Inner Mongolia

(ECNS) -- A unique "Reindeer King" race was held in Aoluguya Ewenki Township, Genhe City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China on Tuesday.

Reindeer with smooth fur, straight and well-proportioned figure, strode down the path, attracting people with their adorable look.

Reindeer, also known antlered deer, is the only species under the genus Reindeer. Aoluguya Ewenki is the only ethnic group in China to keep reindeer.

A total of 21 reindeer participated in the competition. Comprehensive assessments were made based on antler shape, body, fur and decoration etc. Reindeer were also required to finish a series of movements.

Hunters in Ewenki ethnic costumes made a remarkable cultural talent show in the competition.
